052Foretell Deer track and movement

posted by admin on December 18th, 2008

Whitetail deer hunting has been the most exciting and absorbing sport. I bet you can have chats and discussions for hours and your enthusiasm for the topic would never die. During my visit to the Pike County this November, we had a discussion that kept us awake till late and it was one of the most enlightening and fruitful discussions I have had. Someone had raised the question about foretelling deer movement and track and how it can help the hunter.

How can you predict deer tracks or movements? What came out was quite simple-As a basic rule a deer will hunt where there is food. You must identify those areas that are relatively isolated and potential food havens. Pike County deer hunting near the shelter or main food source will drive away deer from the place as they visit only those places that are least dangerous to them. This is because they are highly sensitive to the environment and know well where danger beckons. There were several other inputs from hunters. High temperature is a no-no for the deer. Go hunt in the evening or early morning on hot days. A relatively cooler temperature is a win-win situation. Storm and harsh winds do not go well with the deer as it has a string sense of prediction. It will look for a hideout. A light breeze is a perfect condition for Illinois deer hunting. My fellow hunters, out of their years of experience noted the above conditions. Another hunter quoted research and said that Illinois monster bucks come out in the open on full moon days like other animals.

All these will help you to get an idea of where and when to find deer and you can apply these rules best when your hunting season has a volatile weather pattern.

Pike County Deer hunting is an immensely popular sport. Hunters from across North America come to Illinois to harvest their trophies. Illinois whitetail deer hunting is largely seasonal. The deer is at its rut stage during November to January and most of the hunting experience takes place in these months. However, before getting on to the field, you must ensure that you adhere to a few rules and exercise certain cautions. When you get ready to go to the Pike County ensure that your license and other important documents that you may need are ready. Once this is done, you must look up the website of the County or contact them personally in order to book a specific package. You may like to go for guided, pistol hunts or Illinois bow hunting. On the other hand you may also want to enjoy some lodging facilities. Look into all these aspects of the tour beforehand to make it a successful one.

After you have decided the package, you must check your Illinois outfitters and safety equipment. You would not want your aid box to go out of supplies if something unforeseen happens to you. Also check if your outfitters are right. You may also want to ensure that you have your water bottle, safety equipment, trail camera, etc. Also inform someone about your whereabouts so that you can be traced if you happen to get lost. The tree stand is an indispensable part of the hunt and you must check whether it is perfect for the expedition. Once you ensure all these things listed above, you can enjoy your hunting experience!

048Illinois Pistol Hunts- Safety Tips

posted by admin on December 16th, 2008

During your Illinois pistol hunts it is extremely important to ensure gun safety and careful handling. There are several cases of carelessness that result in severe circumstances like limb cuts or even deaths. You should also ensure that your gun is not dirty and is smooth enough while pulling the trigger or while loading it. Remember that your gun must be cleaned occasionally. Firstly, you should unload the gun. Only then should you proceed towards the trigger and other parts.

You must know how to use the gun well. If not, learn it up. Also upload standard bullets or cartridge in it. While resting, keep it away from others. Test the gun safely in case you need to. On the field, load the gun only when you are about to shoot. Secondly, while holding it in your hand, carefully point the gun towards a safe side to prevent damages. Remember to hold it at a point away from the trigger. Also remember to put on your safety equipment, eye gear, etc while shooting. You must know your target well. Don’t just shoot blindly at any noise you hear. It may be your fellow hunter there. Shoot ethically, only after you are sure and you have verified. Only after you ensure the above things Illinois monster bucks can be shot at. It is strongly recommended that you must not use alcohol or drugs prior to the hunt. This can endanger your life as well as the lives of others. At Pike County deer hunting, the staff and hunting guides are very particular about these precautions.
